IU’s agency is in the process of filing a complaint against malicious comments.
IU’s agency, EDAM Entertainment, announced the progress of the complaint on its official SNS on Thursday.
“As we announced on October 18, 2019, we have received a complaint against malicious slander against artist IU,” said EDAM Entertainment. “As a result, we have secured the identity of the majority of the suspects and have been investigated by the investigative agency.”
“Although it is difficult to disclose the specific process or detailed progress of the investigation at the request of the investigators, punishment is being carried out sequentially and we are waiting for notification of the results,” he said. “We will continue to respond to the law through constant monitoring and reporting from our fans.”
In addition to filing complaints against malicious commenters, the company also announced that it would create a channel for communication with fans by introducing preparation for the opening of the artist’s MD online store.
Meanwhile, IU conducted legal action in October after judging that the level of defamation, sexual harassment and personal attacks caused by indiscriminate malicious comments and the distribution of false information was very serious. At that time, he said he received the first complaint from the Seoul Central District Prosecutors’ Office on Oct. 14 and was preparing to accept additional charges.
