BTS Ranked No. 1 in ‘Idol Group 100 Brand Ratings’ in February…2nd place GFRIEND 3rd place Red Velvet

According to the analysis of big data in February 2020, the top 100 brands of idol groups were ranked in the order of Red Velvet, No. 1 BTS, No. 2 Girlfriend, No. 3 Red Velvet.

For analysis of big data on idol group brand reputation, the Korea Institute of Business reputation analyzed brand reputation index by extracting 150,656,958 big data of 100 idol group brands from January 20, 2020 to Feb. 21, 2020, and measuring consumers’ participation index, media index, communication index and community index for the top 100 idol group brands. Compared to 151,156,090 big data brands of the top 100 idol groups in January 2020, the figure was down 0.33 percent.

The brand reputation index is an indicator created through brand big data analysis, finding that consumers’ online habits have a huge impact on brand consumption. Through analysis of the top 100 brand reputation of idol groups, they can measure the positive evaluation of idol group 100 brands, media attention and communication volume of consumers. The evaluation of 100 brand reputation editors was also included.

In February 2020, the idol group ranked No. 30 in the top 100 brand reputation rankings were BTS, GFRIEND, Red Velvet, Black Pink, (G)I-DLE, IZ*ONE, TWICE, MAMAMOO, EXO, LOONA, SECHSKIES, EVERGLOW, ITZY, SEVENTEEN, SEVENTEEN, APINK, BIGBANG, BEBELITAL, ATT, ATT, ATT, ATT, CHECHE, ATINNIE, ATT, CHECHE, ATT, ATT, ATT, SHINNER, SHIN

The top-ranked brands of BTS (RM, Suga, Jin, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook) were analyzed to have a brand reputation index of 18,056,586, with the participation index of 3,357,376 Media Index 2,667,461 Communication Index of 6,197,799 Community Index of 5,833,951. Compared with the brand reputation index of 13,693,956 in January, it rose 31.86 percent.

The second place, GFRIEND (Sowon, Yerin, Eunha, Yuju, SinB and Umji) brands were analyzed as brand reputation index 5,811,904 with the participation index of 882,904 Media Index of 1,573,401 Communication Index of 2,147,053 Community Index of 2,208,546. Compared with the brand reputation index of 3,870,969 in January, it rose 50.14 percent.

Third place, the Red Velvet (Wendy, Irene, Seulgi, Joy and Yeri) brands were analyzed with the Brand reputation index 5,632,442, with the participation index of 381,832 Media Index 940,214 Communication Index of 1816,381 Community Index of 1894,015. Compared with the brand reputation index of 7,793,658 in January, it fell 27.73 percent.

The fourth-place BLACKPINK (index, Jenny, Rose, Lisa) brand was analyzed to have a brand reputation index of 5,393,703 with the participation index of 225,632 Media Index 734,799 Communication Index 2,519,864 Community Index of 1913,408. Compared with the brand reputation index of 6,228,109 in January, it fell 13.40 percent.

The brands of (G)I-DLE (Mi-yeon, Min-ni, Su-jin, Soyeon, Yu-gi and Shuhua) ranked 5th (Girls) were analyzed with the Brand reputation index of 5,010,992 with the participation index of 234,344 Media Index 327,490 Communication Index of 2436,949 Community Index. Compared with the brand reputation index of 3,813,509 in January, it rose 31.40 percent.

The BTS brand topped the list of idol group’s top 100 brand reputation in February 2020, said Koo Chang-hwan, director of the Korea Institute of Business reputation. Looking at the idol group brand category, the figure was down 0.33 percent compared to 151,156,090 big data brands of the top 100 idol groups in January 2020. Detailed analysis showed that brand consumption fell 9.11 percent, brand issues fell 25.73 percent, brand communications rose 16.85 percent and brand proliferation increased 11.51 percent. The positive ratio analysis for idol groups stood at 65.91 percent, up 4.62 percent from 61.29 percent in January,” the report said.

They added, “BTS brands, which topped the list of the top 100 brand reputation of idol groups in February 2020, had high “I love you, special, donate” in link analysis, and “Comeback, Album and ARMY” in keyword analysis. In the positive ratio analysis, the positive ratio stood at 67.75%.

The Korea Institute of Business Ratings measures and announces the brand reputation index through the analysis of big data reputation of domestic brands. The analysis of big data in February 2020 by the top 100 brands of idol groups was done through the idol brand big data reputation analysis and brand reputation monitor from January 20, 2020 to February 21, 2020.
