BLACKPINK was named the best group and the most impressive performer of 2019 at an award ceremony organized by Britain’s Wembley SSE Arena.
Wembley SSE Arena announced the list of winners of the “SE Live Awards 2019” on its official social media on Thursday (local time).
BLACKPINK was selected as the “Best GROUP” on the list, and enjoyed the joy of winning two gold medals, including the “EVENT OF THE YEAR” award.
The “Event of the Year” awards include four categories: Best Sporting Event (BEST SPORTING EVENT), Best Live Entertainment (BEST GROUP), and Best Solo Artist (BEST SOLO ARTIST). It’s actually the biggest award of the ‘SE Live Awards’.
The presenter who called BLACKPINK said, “In 2019, K-pop had an extraordinary moment. Many fans lined up at Wembley SSE Arena from early on have solidified the successful stage of K-pop artist BLACKPINK,” he said.
“That night was definitely a night to remember,” he said.
BLACKPINK performed at the Wembley SSE Arena in London on May 22 last year (BLACKPINK 2019 WORLD TOUR with KIA [IN YOUR AREA]). Wembley SSE Arena has been performed by famous musicians from around the world, from the Beatles to Ava and Beyonce.
BLACKPINK is raising its K-pop profile by gaining attention from world-renowned critics.
“E! People’s Choice Awards 2019” won three awards, followed by leading music critic Peachfork at 14th place, Billboard reporters’ top 100 songs of the year (66th), American culture and art magazine paper ranked No. 1 “The Best Song of the Year” in 2019, “The Best Song of the World” by global music magazine “Tracklist,” and “The Best” by Britain’s “Fashion of the Year.”
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK, which is scheduled to tour Fukuoka Yahoo! Dome in January 22, is working hard to prepare for the new album.
