BTS’ fourth album, 2.65 million copies on the first day of release… the shortest time ever sold

The group BTS set a new record with its fourth full-length album, “MAP OF THE SOUL : 7,” selling more than 2.65 million copies a day after its release.

According to Hanteo Chart, the album sales website, released on Tuesday, BTS’ “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” topped the daily charts with a total of 2,653,050 copies sold on the first day of its release.

This is the most sales in a short period of time among all BTS albums It sold 2.13 million copies in just two hours during the week set by MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA, which was released in April last year, and sold more than 2.65 million copies on the first day, achieving a new high-speed record.

Previously, “MAP OF THE SOUL: 7” had a total of 4.1 million preorders for the album, the highest preorders ever for BTS’ previous albums as of July 21.

Also, right after the release of the album, the title track “ON” topped all five major Korean music sites, including Melon, FLO, Genie, Bugs and Soribada. Excluding the title track, the album’s tracks also ranked second to 14th, dominating the top of the chart.

Not only domestic but also international attention is hot. On the iTunes chart, it set a record high for 91 countries and regions around the world, while its title track “ON” topped 83 countries and regions’ “Top Songs.”

BTS, which is making a new record at the same time as its comeback, will perform on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon,” which airs on NBC’s channel on Monday (local time), for the first time.
